Organic Mica Colorants

Naturally when we think of colorants we think of dyes, chemicals and man-made additives that give products bright and vibrant colours such as  CI10006 or CI28440. These colorants are mostly damaging when returned to the environment and not always beneficial for humans long term. That's why here at Ohen Group, where we always stay natural, we use organic mica.

Mica are natural silicate mineral rock crystals that have an iridescent shimmer to them thus providing colour. When crushed, they become a fine 'mineral dust'. They have been used as a colorant most prominently as eyeshadow or blush before the rise of commercial additives. 

We use mica as it is completely safe not only for human and animal use but also completely harmless when returned to the environment. Furthermore, given that most of our cosmetics are natural and organic, they are dull and rather unappealing due to the lack of man-made additives - mica crystals provide just the right amount of shimmer and colour to make our products eye catching.
